PPG Industries Inc. announced plans to present its sustainably advantaged solutions for automotive manufacturing at the CARES 2024 congress in Paris, Nov. 13-14. The event highlights innovative techniques and strategies in sustainable automotive manufacturing, providing a forum for manufacturers and suppliers to discuss and exchange ideas for more sustainable processes.
During the European program, PPG and Stellantis will partner to present electrocoat innovations that drive sustainability advantages within the automotive OEM paint shop. Historically, the paint shop is the most energy-intensive area of automotive OEM facilities. PPG solutions, such as PPG ENVIRO-PRIME® EPIC 300 electrocoat, can cure faster and at lower temperatures than previous electrocoat technologies, helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the paint shop.
Thierry Destruhaut, PPG global customer sustainability business partner, Automotive OEM Coatings, stated, "Sustainability is core to PPG’s purpose to protect and beautify the world. The automotive industry continues to transform rapidly, and sustainability is a key area of focus for our automotive customers. We are enabling our customers’ transformation through a full range of industry-leading battery cell materials, adhesives, sealants, films, and coatings."
