Pedro Serret-Salvat, PPG general counsel and president for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), has been elected to the board of the European Council of the Paint, Printing Ink, and Artists’ Colours Industry (CEPE). Serret-Salvat, based at PPG’s European headquarters in Rolle, Switzerland, has 25 years of corporate experience and joined PPG in 2011. He was appointed to his current role in 2023.

“It’s a great honor to be elected to the CEPE board,” Serret-Salvat said. “I am looking forward to working with the board, the CEPE team, and all our stakeholders to raise the image and relevance of the coatings sector and increase awareness of the important role it plays in supporting European competitiveness.”

Roald Johannsen, PPG vice president for EMEA Automotive OEM Coatings, will step down as chairman of CEPE’s board after completing a three-year term. Johannsen is succeeded by David Beckford, managing director of Pronto Paints in the U.K.

“It has been a privilege to serve as CEPE chairman and an honor to represent this great industry of ours,” Johannsen said. “My thanks to the board, CEPE staff, and National Associations for their collaboration in refreshing our vision, mission, and purpose during a period of much change. CEPE is in good hands under the leadership of David.”
