Tom Bowtell, chief executive officer of the British Coatings Federation (BCF), has been honored with the prestigious CEO Leadership Award at the 2024 Memcom Excellence Awards in London. The award is given to a CEO who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and advanced their organization under their tenure.

Since taking over as CEO in 2012, Bowtell has initiated key changes that have strengthened the UK coatings industry, with the BCF experiencing increased membership retention, financial stability, and expanded campaigns like the Essential Coatings initiative. His leadership in areas such as sustainability, diversity, and industry engagement has earned him recognition beyond the UK, as he continues to inspire the sector globally.

In addition to Bowtell’s win, the BCF received a 'Highly Commended' nod for the Sustainability Award, recognizing its efforts in advancing the industry’s Net Zero Roadmap. The organization was also shortlisted for ‘Best Use of Video’ and ‘Team of the Year’ at the event.
