Archroma, a global leader in specialty chemicals for sustainable solutions, announced leadership and organizational changes effective Oct. 1, 2024. Rajiv Sharma has been appointed as the new chief executive officer (CEO), taking over key responsibilities for the Textile Effects business. Current Group CEO Mark Garrett will transition to the Archroma Board of Directors.

Miguel Kohlmann, chairman of the Board of Directors, thanked Garrett for his strategic leadership during a period of transformation, noting his role in enhancing the company’s growth. "We welcome Rajiv Sharma, an inspiring leader with proven experience in delivering long-term growth," Kohlmann said.

Garrett reflected on his tenure, citing significant growth in sales and profitability, and the successful integration of the Huntsman Textile Effects business. “We’ve become the clear market leader, and I’m confident Rajiv will continue leading the company toward a sustainable future,” Garrett said.

Sharma, who served as Group CEO of Coats Group plc for eight years, expressed his excitement about joining Archroma during a pivotal time. “We have an incredible opportunity to support the textile and apparel industry on a sustainability journey that will redefine what’s possible,” Sharma said.

In parallel, Archroma’s Packaging Technologies business will become a focused activity from Oct. 1, 2024. This restructuring aims to increase focus on packaging and accelerate its growth, with CEO Sameer Singla continuing to lead the division and reporting directly to the Board of Directors.

The leadership changes reflect Archroma’s commitment to sustainable innovation and maintaining its position as a global leader in specialty chemicals.
