Hexion Inc. announced its subsidiary Hexion VAD B.V. has attained the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS for its Versatic™ Acids and Derivatives manufacturing sites in the Netherlands. These certifications enable the introduction of bio-attributed Versatic acids and derivatives, reducing the carbon impact associated with fossil-based products.
“This certification underscores our commitment in supporting our customers and end users by reducing the use of fossil resources in our product portfolio, promoting the use of renewable raw materials under a mass balance system”, said Jeroen Jansema, Vice President and General Manager Versatic™ Acids and Derivatives.
In addition to ISCC PLUS certification, Hexion VAD B.V. partnered with a third party and conducted life cycle assessments for the key products in its current portfolio – Versatic™ Acid 10, VeoVa™ 10 Vinyl Ester, and Cardura™ E10P Glycidyl Ester.
“These life cycle assessments provide valuable insights guiding our efforts into minimizing the environmental impact of our products. Equally important, collaborating with our customers to understand downstream environmental effects in the value chain enables the joint development of innovative and sustainable solutions” said Jeroen Jansema.
The ISCC PLUS certification and life cycle assessments underline Hexion VAD B.V.’s dedication to support the value chains in which the company operates towards a sustainable future.
