U.S. Congressman Bill Foster, representing the 11th Congressional District of Illinois, met with RadTech, the non-profit for ultraviolet and electron beam technologies, and PAMA, the Photopolymer Additive Manufacturing Alliance, to discuss opportunities for more efficient regulatory review of photopolymer materials and opportunities for 3D printing/additive manufacturing.
"We are honored that Foster met with us and delighted that he kindly shared his knowledge of our industry," says Michael Gould, President of RadTech, Rahn USA. Foster's scientific background and interest in enabling advanced U.S. manufacturing are vital to not only our industry but also to continued innovation and competitiveness in the U.S. economy."
Foster is the only Ph.D. physicist and one of only two scientists in the U.S. Congress, bringing crucial scientific perspectives to discussions in Washington. He helped pass the CHIPS & Science Act, critical legislation to bolster our science infrastructure and promote American scientific and technological leadership. In addition, he is a leading supporter of STEM educational opportunities for students of all ages. Foster is also one of the sponsors of National Day of 3D Printing (H.Res. 903), and the National Fab Labs Network bill that was recently introduced (H.R. 9205)--The RadTech Board of Directors and PAMA have offered support to Foster's office for both these initiatives. RadTech and PAMA are working to continue congressional outreach to representatives in our membership districts--please contact gary@radtech.org or gcohen@pama3d.org for more information.
