The Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD), formerly the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD), announced it has awarded Representative John Moolenaar with the first ChemPolicy Champion award. This award recognizes advocates of the chemical distribution industry who support policies in Congress that create real impacts for the chemical industry and its supply chain partners.

“As ACD members currently grapple with high inflation, labor shortages, and an ever-changing regulatory environment, it’s important for us to recognize those who advocate and fight for our industry. There is no better person to receive the first ChemPolicy Champion award than Congressman Moolenaar,” said ACD President and CEO, Eric R. Byer.

“As a founder of the Congressional Chemistry Caucus, Rep. Moolenaar is committed to putting forward policies that encourage the continued growth and success of chemistry-related industries. Rep. Moolenaar has acted on that commitment by cosponsoring previous reauthorizations of the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards program to protect America’s chemical facilities from bad actors, urging the Internal Revenue Service to ease burdens imposed by the Superfund Excise Tax, and more. With so many challenges the experts of chemical distribution must navigate, we are pleased to recognize Rep. Moolenaar for his outstanding advocacy and unwavering support of our industry and the thousands of Americans who work in it. We look forward to working with him in the years to come.”

“I am honored to be the first recipient of ACD’s ChemPolicy Champion Award. The chemical distribution industry delivers valuable products that go into the items the American people use every day and it creates good-paying jobs in communities across our country,” said Rep. Moolenaar. “I will continue my work in Congress to support policies that help America lead the world in chemical innovation and distribution so we have a stronger and more prosperous country.”
