iGM Resins announced its facility in Mortara, Italy, will be undertaking measures aimed at reducing the company’s environmental impact and promoting a healthier planet. The company has implemented three initiatives in the plant: the elimination of PCBs in its products, the implementation of Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), and substantial investments in reducing its carbon footprint.
The company has confirmed that all photoinitiators produced in Mortara, owing to the plant’s advanced manufacturing process, do not contain any detectable levels of PCBs. In addition, iGM Resins has completed a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of Omnirad 819, Omnirad 1173 and Omnirad 184 from the Mortara plant, and is available for customers.
To further enhance its ongoing efforts in environmental sustainability at its plant in Italy, iGM Resins is making investments in two areas: water and electricity consumption. Water consumption will be minimized by implementing advanced technologies and efficient processes. Additionally, the company is embracing solar energy by installing solar panels at the facility. It believes that these investments in reducing water consumption and adopting solar energy will make a substantial difference in our efforts to protect the planet for generations to come.
Wilfrid Gambade, CEO at IGM Resins said, “As the reliable and responsible business partner driving the UV industry, our commitment is to provide the market with sustainable solutions to guarantee the future of our industry.”
