GDB Paint & Coatings has worked closely with Paint Care and the Illinois Recycling Association to help pass the Paint Stewardship Act in Illinois. The company recently welcomed the Illinois Recycling Foundation and other distinguished guests to tour its recycling headquarters in Nashville, Illinois, and to mark the beginning of the paint recycling program in the state. Guests included Charlie Meier, Illinois State Representative; Sharon Chung, Illinois State Representative from the Illinois 91st district; the office of Terry Bryant, Illinois State Senator; Ray Kolweier, Mayor of Nashville; Heidi McAuliffe, Vice President of the American Coatings Association; Marta (Touloumes) Keane, Chairwoman at the Illinois Product Stewardship Council & President of the Illinois Recycling Foundation Board; and Brad Babcock, CICI.
The visit encompassed a comprehensive overview of the company, and its mission to achieve net zero in the coatings industry. CEO Sanjeev Bagaria shared GDB’s vision for the future, emphasizing the company’s dedication to producing sustainable and environmentally friendly paint under strict quality control.
Guests were given an exclusive tour of the cutting-edge facility, where they witnessed the facility’s processes, from the collection of post-consumer paint to the pouring and reprocessing that transforms it into high-quality, premium, eco-friendly recycled paint. The tour continued with a glimpse into the company’s automated filling, packaging, and logistics systems, highlighting its commitment to delivering recycled paint to customers in the most sustainable way possible.
