The Chemical Coaters Association International Finishing Education Foundation (CCAIFEF) is now accepting applications for the 2023 Matt Heuertz Scholarship Program. Over the past several years, the program has awarded more than $100,000 to students who are currently enrolled in programs that could lead to a career in the finishing industry. The scholarship program that honors the first executive director of the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) aims to attract new talent to the industrial finishing and surface coating technologies industry.

“The Matt Heuertz Scholarship Program is an important part of our ongoing efforts to engage young talent and educate them on the many careers in industrial finishing,” said Sheila LaMothe, CCAI FEF executive director. “By providing financial support, scholarship recipients are better able to continue their academic pursuits in areas that have a connection to finishing. And, the one-year student membership to CCAI, provided along with the financial award, presents an opportunity for further education about the finishing industry, networking, internships, and more.”

Qualified candidate applications will be reviewed by the CCAI Finishing Education Foundation board of directors. Award amounts vary, are determined by the board of directors, and are sent directly to the recipient’s academic institution. Students must complete a scholarship application, provide a transcript or other grade verification, essay, reference letter, and resume. The application deadline is April 15, 2023.
