Emulsion Polymers Consulting and Education, LLC (EPCEd) has announced it will hold its  Core-Shell Latex Particles - Fundamental Aspects of Morphology Control workshop from June 12-14, 2023 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire. The workshop is directed toward scientists and engineers involved in product development and latex processing operations, and who produce or use water-based latexes for architectural and paper coatings, textiles, and carpet backings, pressure-sensitive adhesives, printing inks, impact modifiers, etc.

This three day workshop will be conducted in a highly interactive manner with participants being engaged in discussions, demonstrations, and problem solving. Class size is limited to 24 participants, so early registration is recommended.

Example workshop/discussions from the schedule include:

  • Emulsion polymerization principles
  • Morphology characterization of structured latex particles
  • Equilibrium morphologies
  • Multi-phase polymerization details
  • Phase separation, latex aging
  • Structural evolution of latex particle morphology during polyme rization
