Hayward Flow Control continues expanding its range of product solutions for chemical feed systems with the addition of the HPD Series Pulsation Dampeners. Designed and built to extend the useful life of critical components – including pumps, flowmeters, and sensors, by lessening the effects of pressure surges – the HPD Series features all thermoplastic construction with multiple bladder material options. With 8 volumetric sizes, ranging from 6 cu. in. to 125 cu. in., the HPD Series reduces damaging shock created by a pump’s action in a chemical feed system. The result is an even, laminar flow, and continuous dosage.

The HPD Series is available in pipe sizes ½”, ¾”, and 1”, with connection options including integral threaded (NPT or BSPT), true union socket, and flanged. The lower housing is offered in PVC, CPVC, or PVDF. Black Noryl top body are standard for PVC and CPVC models, with PVDF top body for PVDF units. Bladder materials include EPDM, Viton®, Hypalon, and PTFE.

Other key features Include:

  • 316 SS charging tee and gauge standard
  • No wetted metal parts
  • Less weight vs. metal dampeners
  • Easily replaceable bladder
  • Aluminum laser etched tags with SS cable
  • 18-8 SS hardware for body assembly
  • All sizes pressure rated at 150 PSI/10 bar at 70 °F / 21 °C non-shock

Typical applications or installations include, but are not limited to, chemical dosing for waste and water treatment, chemical transfer and processing, cooling towers, chlorination systems, power plants, aquatic and animal life support systems, and metal plating/surface finishing.
