Hexigone Inhibitors, a manufacturer of anti-corrosives, has been awarded the Gold Sustainability Rating from Ecovadis. This result places the company among the top 5% of companies assessed by the organization globally. Since its founding in 2007, EcoVadis has grown to become the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, creating a global network of more than 90,000 rated companies.

To achieve the Gold Rating, Hexigone had to undergo an in-depth evaluation from EcoVadis. The evaluation assessed the quality of the sustainability management system through evidence, as well as a controversy screening. Each company is independently assessed based on environment, ethics, sustainable procurement, and labor and human rights.

Marc Phillips, operations manager at Hexigone, said, “We are pleased that Hexigone was awarded the Gold Sustainability Rating from EcoVadis at first entry and evaluation, as sustainability is at the core of Hexigone’s product offer. We have robust policies and procedures in place, and will also be utilizing our scorecard to improve business processes further. Our goal is to reach the platinum rating next year.”

Hexigone’s corrosion inhibitors were brought to market to replace heavy metals, phosphates, and toxic chromates with highly effective, environmentally favorable inhibitors. 40% of all new steel created is used to replace steel that has been damaged or destroyed by corrosion. The protection offered by Hexigone’s Intelli-ion® technology increases the product life cycle of metal assets - reducing the drain on primary resources.

The company has patents for its technology across the globe and has recently joined the Made In Britain network – a recognized mark of high-quality manufacturing and products from the United Kingdom. Additionally, Hexigone has been awarded the Sustainable Innovation Award 2022 from the British Coatings Federation.
