Sheboygan Paint Company announced that Cynthia Baricos (nee Bal) has been promoted to Vice President of Research & Development. In this role, she will direct the Research & Development Team to ensure Sheboygan Paint Company maintains its competitive advantage in the marketplace by developing innovative coatings solutions for customers. Additionally, she is responsible for the strategy and execution of the organization’s Quality Management Systems, ensuring process efficiency while maintaining excellence in quality by focusing on analytics and capital investments. Baricos is a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering with the board of advisors to ensure Sheboygan Paint Company realizes its vision to become the best-known family-owned industrial coatings company in the U.S.
Baricos joined Sheboygan Paint Company in January 2021 as Director of Research & Development. Recently, she presented on the development of Sheboygan Paint Company’s patented “Direct-to-Metal Isocyanate-Free Innovation” at the 2021 Coatings Trends & Technologies Conference. This catalyst, developed by Baricos and her R&D Team, makes environmentally friendly paint more accessible to a wider variety of commercial industries.
Baricos has more than 20 years of experience at industry leaders such as Dow Chemical, Valspar and Sherwin Williams. She is an expert in industrial microbiology, building envelope science, rheology, spectroscopy, and data analytics & sequential experimentation. She holds multiple patents, is a Black Belt in Design for Six Sigma, a Green Belt in DMAIC for Six Sigma, and is certified in Project Management and Business Analytics from Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Bradley University and expects to complete her MBA in 2024.
