Cargill Completes Acquisition of Croda’s Smart Materials Business

In December 2021, Cargill announced its intention to acquire the majority of Croda’s Performance Technologies and Industrial Chemicals business to expand its bio-industrial footprint and better serve industrial manufacturers searching for greener ingredient solutions. Cargill recently announced the completion of the acquisition on June 30, 2022; the former Croda Smart Materials business is now officially part of Cargill Bioindustrial.
The acquisition is Cargill’s largest for its bio-industrial business, welcoming almost 750 employees from around the world. In addition, nearly 85% of the raw materials used to manufacture the products that will be added to Cargill’s bio-industrial portfolio are renewable and/or bio-based, which aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainability.
