HAMBURG, Germany — The KRAHN Chemie Group and Ecoat from Grasse, France, have again expanded their existing distribution agreement. This results in additional distribution rights for KRAHN Chemie regarding the bio-based and water-based binders for the paint industry in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. In January 2020, both partners launched their cooperation for the sales regions of Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, with November 2020 having already seen an extension to Poland.
As a green polymer manufacturer for the paints and coatings industry, Ecoat produces competitive and high-performance products, ensuring that they are tailored to the needs of the market while at the same time containing as many bio-based or renewable ingredients as possible. The agreement covers a range of partially bio-based alkyd emulsions as well as alkyd urethane dispersions. The Secoia™ product range consists of bio-based alkyd emulsions, which are used in particular for architectural and wood paints. Aqueous alkyd emulsions, which are mainly applied in environmentally friendly decorative coatings, as well as alkyd-urethane dispersions, which are especially used for decorative wood and metal coatings, are sold under the brand name Inokem™ UR.
“After the cooperation with Ecoat in Poland has started very successfully, I am very proud that we can now also offer our customers from other countries in the CEE region the products of a supplier who convinces with outstanding technical capabilities and for whom sustainability is just as important as for the KRAHN Group,” said Magdalena Chudziak, Managing Director of KRAHN Chemie Polska and responsible for the CEE countries.
Nicolas Florent, General Manager and Business Director at Ecoat, commented, “KRAHN has already convinced us on several occasions that they deliver special added value to our customers from different countries through their many years of experience and special technical knowledge in the field of paints and coatings. I am firmly convinced that our customers in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania will also benefit from KRAHN’s expertise and market proximity.”
