MADBURY, NH — Emulsion Polymers Consulting and Education LLC (EPCEd) is once again offering workshops, starting with one that has not been offered before. "Introducing Basics of Creating Latex Particles with Controlled Size and Chemistry" is an on-line, interactive workshop that will be offered in four-hour segments Aug. 23-26, 2021. The workshop offers a thorough review of free radical polymerization reactions for homo- and conomoner systems and establishes the basis for understanding the chemical kinetics that take place in both the water and polymer particle phases.
The Basics workshop has been designed to introduce those relatively new to the emulsion polymers field to the chemical and physical principles involved in creating latex particles with controlled polymer chemistry and nanoparticle size distributions. By developing a solid background in these subjects, participants will then be well positioned to work with the myriad challenges involved in creating commercially viable latex-based polymers.
The new workshop is step one of nine interactive workshops under the umbrella of the Science and Technology of Emulsion Polymers, or STEPn. Class size is limited to 30 participants, and early registration is recommended.
