TROY, MI — The Detroit Society for Coatings Technology is hosting the Virtual FOCUS 45 on Thursday, May 6 and Friday, May 7, 2021. An industry mainstay for sharing ideas and growing networks, the conference will cover an array of topics in developing technologies, optimizing productivity and emerging test methods.

As technologies continue to evolve and improve, so does FOCUS. Now hosted on the CVENT Virtual Platform, the conference will continue to highlight coatings and factory improvements. This year’s theme “Vision into the Future” will examine application of emerging coatings technologies to tomorrow’s automotive bodies and add-on parts.

FOCUS 2021 will include an extended agenda of technical presentations that will examine Next Generation Application Technologies, Next Generation Coatings and Materials, and Futuristic Test Methods. Leaders from top companies, including Axalta Coatings Systems, BASF, PPG, Ford Motor Co. and GM, will be making presentations. The Keynote Speaker, Pete Votruba-Drzal from PPG, will discuss "Advance Coatings For The Mobility Industry." A virtual poster session will highlight the talents of students from local universities, and exhibitors will feature products on the virtual platform. Additionally, the event will offer networking opportunities for exhibitors and attendees.
