LUDWIGSHAFEN, Germany — With immediate effect or as existing contracts permit, BASF is increasing the price for neopentylglycol (NPG). In Europe, NPG will increase €150/MT. In Asia (w/o China) and South America, NPG will increase $180/MT, and in North America, NPG will increase $0.08/lb.

NPG is a high-quality intermediate used, for example, to produce polyester resins for coatings, unsaturated polyester resins, lubricants and plasticizers. In North America, BASF markets NPG under its Neol^® brand.
