BEGBROKE, UK — Oxford Advanced Surfaces, a leader in the surface treatment of polymeric, plastic and composite materials by the application of highly reactive carbene chemistry, announced the expansion of its global reach with new representation in China.

The new representative, Suzhou Composites Co. Ltd., based in Suzhou City near Shanghai, will support the full range of OAS surface treatments including the new Onto™ EP1132.

The Onto™ range of surface preparation products have been developed to work with composites, as well as a wide range of engineering plastics. It is equally effective on materials that are difficult to bond or coat, such as PA (nylon) or PEEK. The products are available in spray and brush formulations, so are suitable for adhesive bonding or painting and lacquering applications. Onto™ is fit for use in both manual and automated processes.

Terence Warmbier, Head of Business Development, Oxford Advanced Surfaces, said, “We are very pleased to announce Suzhou Composites Co. Ltd. as a representative of our products for Asia. They have more than 20 years experience of composites and great knowledge and technical capabilities regarding their local market.

“Developing the global network for our products is very exciting and allows us to easily share our products with the rest of the world. We look forward to developing a strong relationship with China and hopefully expanding across other countries.”

Suzhou Composite Material Co. Ltd. focuses on the development, production, import and export of a variety of chemical products and composite materials.

Dong Yuda, General Manager, from Suzhou Composites Co. Ltd, said, “Suzhou Composites Co. Ltd. focuses on representing quality products to the Chinese and wider Asian Market. Adding Onto to our portfolio will allow our markets to have access to this innovative surface treatment technology.”

OAS Onto range has a variety of applications including automotive, marine, agriculture and energy. A spinout from the University of Oxford, the technology, developed over a number of years, is unique as it allows for surface preparation without the need to etch or damage the materials.

The patented technology already has proven applications and is designed to utilize the maximum potentials of a variety of modern materials.
