LYNGBY, Denmark — Dorthe Scherling Nielsen has joined Hempel to lead the company’s ambitious sustainability work as Head of Sustainability and Government Affairs. Sustainability is a central pillar in Hempel, and the company has a stated desire to lead the coatings industry in the sustainability space.

Katarina Lindström, Group Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, said, “I’m very pleased to welcome someone of Dorthe’s caliber to the team. Nielsen has extensive experience within sustainability and government affairs and has held leading positions at a number of companies, including Vestas, Nike and Bestseller.

As Head of Hempel’s Sustainability and Government Affairs team, Nielsen will lead the development and implementation of Hempel’s global sustainability and government affairs agendas, with primary focus on Hempel’s value chain and a more proactive approach to government affairs.
