DANVERS, MA — TECHKON, provider of high-precision color measurement solutions for the global print and packaging communities, announced a major upgrade agreement with a prominent packaging company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with locations nationwide. The packaging company is yet another example of a trend that Techkon has seen over the last 18 months with many of its packaging customers. Growth in the global packaging industry and demand for improved color quality and consistency have led to a significant increase in the investment of color measurement instrumentation.
In response to this growing trend, Techkon established an Upgrade Program for new and existing customers. The Atlanta-based company is the latest packaging manufacturer to take advantage of Techkon’s Upgrade Program. The Techkon Upgrade Program helps global commercial and packaging printers transition from legacy competitive devices as well as older Techkon devices by providing extensive technical support services as well as trade-in rebates. Many existing Techkon customers have opted to take advantage of this new program.
Included in the Upgrade Program for the aforementioned company is a fleet of Techkon’s scanning spectrophotometers, the SpectroJet. The SpectroJet automatically measures density and color values of process and spot colors, and simultaneously transfers the measurement data to a PC within seconds. It is guided by hand along color test patches, with tracking wheels to ensure a straight run, and can be used for automatic scanning or as a hand-held device for spot-check measurements. The SpectroJet is part of Techkon’s suite of color measurement solutions and comes standard with a guide rail and easy-to-use software.
