NEW BRITAIN, CT — Products Finishing magazine has named MicroCare Senior Chemist Emily Peck in its annual 40 Under 40 leadership group, recognizing her as a rising star in the finishing industry.
Peck joins the class of 2020, which includes the most talented young chemists, engineers, business development managers, general managers, quality control specialists and company presidents. As a Senior Chemist at MicroCare, a leading manufacturer of critical cleaning, coating and lubrication products, Peck is instrumental in developing new and innovative chemical formulations to assist MicroCare customers with their critical cleaning needs. She has spent a great deal of time helping metalworking customers de-bind, clean and dry metal parts better, faster and safer.
MicroCare Chief Executive Officer Tom Tattersall said, “Emily deserves recognition for her work. Not only is she an exceptional chemist, company representative and colleague, but she should also be viewed as an outstanding product finishing industry leader. She is an advisor to many of us here at MicroCare and to others within the industry itself.”
“Emily works on developing new modern cleaning fluid alternatives engineered to meet strict global environmental regulations. The new fluids are to help customers replace nPB and TCE that can create air quality and groundwater issues. She is formulating modern fluorinated solvents that can deliver the same, if not better cleaning results,” Tattersall continued.
“Emily works closely with our lab team to advise customers on the best combination of process and cleaning fluid to effectively clean and dry metal parts without damaging the substrate. She is very deserving of this recognition,” he concluded.
Peck shares her critical cleaning expertise at various trade shows and other industry events. She routinely presents technical talks for industry trade group symposiums. She also authors technical papers on the topic of industrial cleaning fluids/processes and contributed over 15 technical articles published in trade journals in North America and Europe last year.
In addition, Peck manages quality control operations for MicroCare. She also oversees the MicroCare summer laboratory intern program for college students majoring in chemistry-related disciplines.
Peck joined MicroCare in 2016 and is recently promoted to MicroCare Lab Manager.
