WESTLAKD, OH – Chemical distributor Sea-Land Chemical Co. has promoted Matthew Mapus to Vice President of Marketing.
Mapus has worked for the company for the last 12 years, holding several key positions in marketing and product management during this time, serving as the Director of Marketing for the past three. In the seven years prior to joining Sea-Land, Mapus held several commercial roles for Nalco Chemical Co., providing customer service, technical application and sales support to customers in the industrial water treatment industry. Mapus started his career in the chemical industry in 2001, gaining two years of manufacturing experience with the Automotive Pretreatment Group for PPG Industries, managing the on-site solvent program and supporting the phosphate and electrocoat treating operations at the Daimler-Chrysler-Jeep facility in Toledo, Ohio.
As a new member of the executive leadership team, Mapus will continue to lead the development and execution of the marketing strategy, communicating the value proposition for the company, principal supplier partners and their product brands in the market. Mapus will spearhead the growth and development activities for new markets by exploring raw material supplier and customer relationship opportunities throughout North America and Europe. In addition, he will oversee the technical resources and inside sales departments, providing valuable leadership and chemical industry experience to support customers current and future challenges.
