GERHARDSHOFEN, Germany – WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH, a manufacturer of coatings, adhesives and flexo inks for the graphic arts industry, announced that it will become the European blister coating production partner of Royal DSM.
An important element of becoming the production partner for DSM’s blister coatings adhesives is the WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH production plant for water-based coatings, which went into full operation this year and is one of the most modern and efficient facilities of its kind. The full automation of this plant, according to the Industry 4.0 Standard, makes it possible to produce a wide variety of water-based coating systems in large quantities.
Through this partnership, the two companies will combine their skills and expertise. Specifically, DSM will contribute its strong resin technology experience, while WEILBURGER Graphics will provide its formulation and application know-how. As part of this partnership SOLUCOTE® products will from now on be distributed by WEILBURGER Graphics under its own SENOLITH® WB BLISTER COATING product class. In the future, product optimizations will be made with the knowledge and experience of WEILBURGER Graphics in close coordination with customers.
Through this partnership, WEILBURGER Graphics will expand the European and, in the long term, the global market for blister coatings, and further improve the technical service and quality level of DSM's former SOLUCOTE series. As a result, customers of both companies will receive environmentally friendly products.
Günter Korbacher, Managing Director of WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH, said, "Taking over the production activities of blister coatings from DSM is the logical consequence of the installation of our new production plant, which was planned just two years ago and has been successfully completed. There is no comparable plant in the world, and we are very proud that companies like DSM have understood the technical, qualitative and economic advantages of outsourcing the production of their own product series to our plant. Furthermore, they also enter into long-term partnerships with us in the interests of their customers. We’re looking forward to working together with DSM's specialists in this market segment to sustainably enrich the market for blister coatings."
