In addition to Lubrizol’s exhibit at Booth 45, where they are showcasing resins, dispersants, waxes and specialty additives, the company will also participate in the technical conference with a presentation titled, “Waterborne Self-Matting Polyamide-Urethane Technology”. Lubrizol has developed new waterborne resin technology that utilizes polyamide-based polyols as the soft segment in polyurethane dispersions. Coatings based on this patented technology can provide solventborne-like performance including outstanding levels of hardness, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance in an easy-to-use, 1K waterborne system. With increased consumer demand for low-gloss coatings, Lubrizol has developed a waterborne, self-matting polyamide-urethane that meets the desired aesthetics without compromising performance. This self-matting resin provides a low-gloss finish that has high performance and clarity without the use of conventional matting agents, such as waxes and silicas. This presentation will compare performance of these low-gloss coatings to coatings matted through traditional means, with application-specific data presented for wood and metal applications.
