FRANKFURT, Germany — BASF announced that Christophe Cazabeau, Senior Vice President, has been appointed head of the global business unit Surface Treatment of BASF's Coatings division, which operates under the Chemetall brand. Effective Aug. 1, he succeeded Dr. Martin Jung, who led the Chemetall business since 2017. Jung has joined BASF's Performance Materials division in Belgium.

Before assuming his current role, Cazabeau oversaw the post-merger integration project of the Engineering Plastics business of Solvay into the Performance Materials division of BASF. He joined BASF in 2009 and held various senior positions of increasing responsibility within the group in France, Germany and other locations, including Business Manager of the BASF Coatings business in India. Cazabeau also held the position of Vice President Business management for the Industrial Applications segment of the Performance Materials division in EMEA.
