JACKSON, MS — The Electrocoat Association and Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) announced the 2018 electrocoating seminar event, designed to meet the varying technical needs of electrocoaters and those considering incorporating ecoat to their products and services portfolio.

Now known as the ECOAT Boot Camp, the two-day annual seminar has a new look combined with interactive elements to not only educate attendees on the elements of electrocoat, but also allow them to build upon what they’ve learned through case studies and small-group, problem-solving activities.

Topics covered in the seminary include technology basics, types of ecoat and applications of each; pretreatment as a critical and essential system component; how equipment and material handling impact ROI; process control techniques and strategies to maintain the upper hand; and testing and troubleshooting to avoid or overcome defects.

While the learning experience itself will be enhanced, the quality educational content, the Meet the Speaker reception, and a plant tour will still be part of the event. Systems Electrocoating (SEC) will host this year’s tour of its facility in Madison, Mississippi, at the end of the classroom program so attendees can see an electrocoat process.

The ECOAT Boot Camp is scheduled for Sept. 11-12, 2018, at the Embassy Suites Jackson North Ridgeland Hotel outside of Jackson, Mississippi. Registration includes the two-day educational program, networking reception, group lunches and breaks, transportation to and from the plant tour, and a copy of The Electrocoat Association’s textbook, “Electrocoating: A Guidebook for Finishers.”
