SAO PAULO, Brazil - Oxiteno announced an investment in a new research and development (R&D) laboratory in the United States. The R&D lab is the output of a partnership between Oxiteno and the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) and will be located in The Garden, the university’s 521-acre innovation and commercialization park. The lab is an example of Oxiteno’s commitment to international markets and USM’s commitment to innovation.
The laboratory will begin operating in mid-September, focusing on research and development of products to serve the U.S. market in the agriculture, paints and coatings, personal care, home care, and oil and gas segments. “Being close to our clients will allow the company to serve them better. We will now be able to provide samples and develop products locally, reducing the time required for these activities,” explained João Parolin, Chief Executive Officer of Oxiteno.
“Oxiteno will be the largest commercial laboratory tenant in The Accelerator. The presence of such a prestigious and innovative company will certainly help spotlight the depth of capabilities and resources we have to offer at USM. We are looking forward to a productive partnership and the international attention Oxiteno will help bring to The Accelerator,” said Robbie Ingram, Manager of The University of Southern Mississippi Innovation and Commercialization Accelerator. The Accelerator is a business incubator located in The Garden that provides space, technology and professional advice to companies.
Oxiteno, São Paulo, Brazil, is leader in the manufacture of surfactants and specialty chemicals. The company develops innovative and sustainable solutions for a number of industries, including paint and coatings.
