PHILADELPHIA - Axalta Coating Systems announced that Caterpillar has approved the use of Axalta AquaEC™ 6100 electrocoat coatings covering two approved materials EK2160/629-2161 and 4023-2161 on its equipment.
The AquaEC range of electrocoat primers use patented epoxy-based technology to provide superior corrosion resistance with excellent throw power and improved edge protection. The tin-free technology used in AquaEC 6100, now available globally, also helps meet environmental goals.
“AquaEC 6100 is designed to improve our customers’ productivity and reduce application costs,” said Michael Cash, President of Industrial Coatings at Axalta. “Our customers look for coatings to improve performance and handle increasingly diverse substrates, part designs and pretreatment options. The technology behind AquaEC 6100 is specifically formulated to provide those solutions while meeting or exceeding the most rigorous of specification requirements of agriculture, construction and earthmoving equipment (ACE) manufacturers. We are pleased to have been able to meet Caterpillar’s exacting specifications.”
