HOLT, MI - Orchid Orthopedic Solutions (Orchid), a leader in design and manufacturing for the orthopedic and medical device industry, has signed an agreement to acquire the Cam Bioceramics coating facility and operations in Suzhou (Cam China), a provider of hydroxylapatite (HA) plasma coatings in China.

The acquisition of the coating facility in further strengthens Orchid’s role as a global coating leader. Orchid can now offer coating capabilities in the United States, Europe and Asia to its customers. The acquisition also creates a base for Orchid to further expand its capabilities in China to serve the growing demands in the market.

Cam Bioceramics is a global orthobiologic materials innovator specializing in calcium phosphates. By divesting its China coating facility to Orchid, Cam Bioceramics is focusing on its core business: the engineering, development and contract manufacturing of orthobiologic calcium compositions. The company is based in Leiden, the Netherlands, and its Dutch ownership remains unchanged.
