LONDON - The British Coatings Federation (BCF) has launched an in-depth report on the UK coatings industry’s progress in addressing the sustainability challenges faced by the sector, unveiling the report at its annual awards dinner in Cheshire on November 25.
Seven years ago, the BCF produced a Sustainable Development Policy, which set out the ambition for the industry to drive best practice in the economic, social and environmental elements of sustainability.
“Our members have demonstrated through this landmark report that the UK’s coatings, printing inks and wallcoverings manufacturers provide quality products, which protect the environment, conserve resources, enhance lifestyle and communicate information” said Tom Bowtell, BCF’s Chief Executive.
The report showcases examples of how members of the BCF have responded to the challenges outlined in the 2009 policy, and includes over 50 case studies. Copies are available from the BCF by contacting the BCF office at enquiries@bcf.co.uk, or can be downloaded by following the link on the Sustainable Development page of the BCF website www.coatings.org.uk.
