WASHINGTON, DC — The American Coatings Association (ACA) will host a two-day seminar, “Managing Hazard Communication and Chemicals Regulation in the North American and European Marketplace,” November 9-10, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in New Orleans. The seminar is designed to help professionals in the paint and coatings industry succeed in addressing product stewardship requirements for product composition, hazard communication, packaging and transport.
’s seminar is geared to employees responsible for product compliance in North America and the European Union (EU), including tracking chemicals management regulations; hazard classification, labeling and safety data sheet (SDS) preparation; shipping and transport; and other related regulatory initiatives.
The seminar will focus on regulatory requirements in the North American and European market, and industry experts and regulators from the United States, Canada, EU and Mexico will address the chemicals management and labeling requirements specific to each particular jurisdiction. These experts and regulators will also sit on two panels, one for chemicals management and one on labeling, to discuss the practical implications of the germane regulations. Another session will be dedicated to learning to distinguish between HazCom labeling and transport labeling, and discussing situations when both types of labeling are required on a package. Finally, regulatory experts from California will address the emerging trends in Prop 65 and the Safer Consumer Product Regulations.
