BEIJING – The Association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM) honored WACKER Chemicals Greater China with its 2015 Responsible Care® Chairman Award. Paul Lindblad, President of WACKER Greater China, received the award at the AICM Responsible Care Awards Ceremony in Beijing. This is the second time AICM issued this award. WACKER was also one of winners of the first Responsible Care Chairman Awards in 2013.
AICM represents around 70 major foreign investments in the chemical industry of China. In order to promote the sustainable development of China's chemical industry and to further develop the Responsible Care excellence concept, AICM set up an award system with an expert panel to review members’ Responsible Care performance. The panel of judges evaluated the activities of the members on safety, environment protection and health care, Responsible Care promotion as well as their contribution to the neighboring communities and China’s society.
During the awards ceremony, Paul Lindblad, President of WACKER Greater China said: “WACKER’s vision in China is to make an indispensable contribution to the country’s progress and sustainable development. Along with business growth, we have also seen significant results from our increased efforts relating to the environment and society. Responsible Care and Sustainability have been deeply anchored in the company’s production operations, business processes and corporate culture. WACKER will continue to improve its EHS performance, to conduct an open dialogue with its stakeholders, and to keep sharing best practices with the Chinese chemical industry, thus jointly contributing to a harmonious society.”
