LONDON - The British Coatings Federation (BCF) announced that the Coatings Training Institute (CTI), run by the BCF, has become a Cogent Skills Assured Provider for Apprenticeships for the full suite of over 60 training modules specific to the sector.

The network is aimed at ensuring high-quality training across the entire science sector, promoting the availability of employer-backed training solutions, supporting new entrants into the sector, particularly through apprenticeships, and boosting skills transferability.

The CTI courses form an important part of the new apprenticeship offering, which Cogent Skills has developed together with the BCF. BCF’s Chief Executive, Tom Bowtell said, “This is great news for the coatings industry because it will allow apprenticeship funding for coatings-specific courses for BCF members who sign up for the Science Industry Partnership, which is administered by Cogent.”

Tony Prior, Business Development Manager, Cogent Skills added, “The Science Industry Partnership is presenting organizations of all sizes with a unique opportunity to up-skill the existing workforce and develop new entrants in the sector, particularly through bespoke SMART Apprenticeships.”

Prior continued, “Working with the Coatings Training Institute as an Assured Provider means that employers in the coating sector are one step closer to accessing the co-funded training solutions they need for the business to flourish.”
