WESTLAKE, OH - Q-Lab announced that Brad Reis was recently elected Chairman of ASTM’s Subcommittee D01.27, a group that focuses on accelerated testing for paints and coatings. Reis has been serving as temporary chair of this subcommittee since June 2013.
Reis is an active member of numerous ASTM committees and subcommittees and has been involved in a number of working groups for the revision of various standards. He was in charge of the working group responsible for the release of ASTM D7869, a modern practice for accelerated weathering of transportation coatings, and is the project leader for the revision of ASTM G154, the practice of fluorescent UV exposure of non-metallic materials. He is currently the Vice President of Marketing for Q-Lab.
Throughout his 23-year professional career, Reis has held various technical leadership roles in marketing, new product development, applications engineering, equipment design and intellectual property. His broad experience stems from working at several leading technology companies, including General Electric, W. L. Gore & Associates, and most recently GrafTech International, before joining the Q-Lab team.
He holds over 30 US patents and has authored many papers in the field of electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and thermal management.
