CHARLESTON, SC - Skanska has signed a contract with The Boeing Co. to build its Commercial Airplane Decorative Paint Facility in Charleston, SC. The contract is worth approximately $82 million.
The project is a 35,000-square-meter facility used to paint Boeing’s 787 aircraft. The facility includes two paint bays, office towers, and mechanical and electrical rooms. It has an extensive MEP system to handle the airflow requirements for the paint process. Construction started in November 2014 and is expected to be completed in November 2016.
