Ryan Smith obtained a Bachelors in Chemistry from Trinity International University, and a Doctorate in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Iowa. Post-academia, he worked with near-infrared process analysis instruments to enhance understanding of hydrocarbon processing technologies in pilot-scale refining operations. In 2016, he joined PerkinElmer as a Field Applications Scientist, supporting existing and emerging applications of PerkinElmer's FTIR, FT-NIR, and IR microscopy solutions.
