Ben Thornton is a Senior Applications Chemist in the Product & Applications Development Laboratories at Emery Oleochemicals where he performs research to help the company’s global customers solve their toughest chemistry challenges while bringing sustainable new products to market. Ben has a Bachelor of Chemistry degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and two decades of formulation experience in the CASE industry. His expertise includes being the principal inventor of a patented epoxy-silicone hybrid elastomer for subsea insulation. Ben’s passion for designing molecules and polymers covers a broad range of applications from epoxy, polyurea, and hybrid coatings to urethane elastomers.
