HGTV Home® by Sherwin-Williams introduced new cabinet and furniture paint, a new acrylic urethane enamel that provides a factory-like finish on cabinets and furniture, can be tinted to any color, and is offered in satin and semi-gloss sheens.
The new coatings use an electron beam or ultra-violet energy to convert a liquid coating into a fully cured solid finish in seconds, without any significant loss of thickness or weight.
In addition to exhibiting at the event, Vice President, Richard Czarnecki will participate in the event's keynote panel discussion and discuss Navigating Materials of Concern in the Coatings Industry.
The new product enables coatings and ink formulators to achieve outstanding pigment dispersion and stability, while enabling ever-stringent sustainability initiatives for 100% solids systems and a wide range of solvent-based systems.
The research compared the carrying capacity of PPG’s precipitated silica to maltodextrin, a common carrying and bulking agent. Results showed that the company's prodcut provided more than 40 times the carrying capacity of maltodextrin.
Both the sealer and the semi-transparent stain are formulated for all environments, even those in the harshest areas near open water. They are formulated to penetrate below the surface and create a flexible, breathable barrier that expands and contracts with environmental elements to protect against water damage.
