Sartomer Researchers to Give Two Technical Presentations at ACS

May 7, 2012
Sartomer USA, LLC researchers William Schaeffer and Michael Bailey are giving technical presentations at the American Coatings Show. Sartomer is also showcasing specialty (meth)acrylate monomers and oligomers for low-VOC cure-in-place coatings at booth #500.

Schaeffer’s presentation, “Durable Multi-Purpose Protective Coatings,” will be held at 4:00 p.m. today as part of Session 10 – Protective Coatings II. It will examine the use of acrylate functional monomers and oligomers for radiation-curable coatings, offering improved adhesion and excellent coating performance when exposed to extreme environmental conditions.

Bailey’s paper, entitled “The Versatility of Acrylate Modifiers in 2K Amine-Cured Epoxy Coatings,” presents the effects of structure, molecular weight and functionality of acrylate monomers and oligomers on two-component amine-cured epoxy coating performance. The paper will be presented at 2:00 p.m. as part of the product presentation session on Wednesday, May 9.

Products featured at the booth include CN823 Acrylic Oligomer, which offers low shrinkage, adhesion and is hydrophobic; CN9030 Urethane Acrylate Oligomer, which offers flexibility, weatherability and corrosion resistance; CN9060 Aliphatic Urethane Acrylate Oligomer, which is hydrophobic and low odor; SR217 Cycloaliphatic Acrylate Monomer, which offers high Tg, low shrinkage, and is hydrophobic and weatherable; CN9029 Urethane Acrylate Oligomer, which offers hardness, chemical resistance and low odor; CN9031 Urethane Acrylate Oligomer, which offers flexibility, weatherability and corrosion resistance; and CN9062 Dual-Cure Urethane Acrylate Oligomer, which has an OH value of 85 mg KOH/g, offers utility in dual-cure compositions, as well as hardness and chemical resistance.
