AkzoNobel Plans Separation of Powder Coatings Business in India

Akzo Nobel N.V. has proposed acquiring the Powder Coatings operations and International Research Center from its publicly listed subsidiary, Akzo Nobel India Limited. The transaction also includes transferring intellectual property for the local Decorative Paints business to AkzoNobel India, allowing it to operate independently in its core liquid paints and coatings segment.

AkzoNobel India’s Board of Directors has accepted the offer, but the transaction remains subject to approval from AkzoNobel India shareholders and Akzo Nobel N.V.’s Supervisory Board. The shareholder voting process is expected to conclude in the coming weeks.
