AkzoNobel Confirms Talks With BASF

AMSTERDAM - AkzoNobel confirmed in a statement released on Thursday, February 11, that the company is in discussion with BASF about a potential purchase of BASF’s Industrial Coatings business.

AkzoNobel’s strategy of driving operational excellence and organic growth includes the possibility to pursue value-generating, bolt-on acquisitions, the company said in Thursday’s statement.

The company stated that no additional details will be made available at this stage.
