DURHAM, UK - At the official Coatings Societies International (CSI) meeting on July 7 in Durham, England, a new logo was adopted, reflecting the global connection of its sister organizations.
In addition, new CSI rules (Principles of Organization) were adopted based on the original ICCATCI rules from 1989, but updated to incorporate the ability to allow electronic voting and generally speed up decision-making between the official annual meetings. Along with the new rules, the aims and objectives of CSI have been broadened to provide more tangible member benefits.
A major milestone for the Surface Coatings Association New Zealand (SCANZ) is the acceptance of the CSI secretariat from the previous hosts, the Oil & Colour Chemists' Association (OCCA). Don MacDonald is now the secretary general of CSI. SCANZ will host the secretariat for the next five years.
